Concluding session of the Fourth Global Strategic Management Conference (GSMC 2023-24) held at DME

On 16th Feb 2024, Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME), a leading institute affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), conducted the Valedictory ceremony as a part of DME Management School’s 4th Global Strategic Management Conference (GSMC 2023-24). The conference is being organized in collaboration with SLIIT Northern Uni, Sri Lanka. The theme for the Conference was “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Mental Well-Being: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Trends”.

GSMC receives patronage and encouragement from Mr. Vipin Sahni, Chairman, DME, Ms. Kiran Sahni, Chairperson, DME, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Bhanwar Singh, Director General, DME and Mr. Aman Sahni, Vice-Chairman, DME.

The thought-provoking theme was the brainchild of the Conference Advisors – Prof (Dr.) Ravi Kant Swami, Director and Dean, DME Management School and Prof (Dr.) Poorva Ranjan, Head – DME Management School. Dr Navya Jain, Associate Professor, DME and Dr Khushbu Khurana, Assistant Professor, DME serve this edition of GSMC as Convener and Co-Convener respectively.
Two workshops were held followed by the valedictory ceremony. The resource person for the first workshop was Ms.

Swapna Reddy, Founder, Origin Learning Solutions and Entrepreneur in Edtech and Agritech. The topic for the workshop was Unlocking the Power of DEI and Mental Well-being: Global Catalyst for Organizational Change and Development. Ms. Reddy accentuated the significance of sensitivity towards others and advocated for conscious hiring policies and equal pay practices as essential measures for organizations to promote DEI effectively.

The resource person for the second workshop was Prof. (Dr.) Nagalingam Nagendrakumar, CEO/Dean-Academic, Northern Uni, SLIIT Uni. The topic for this workshop was The Business Case for DEI in Information Management. Prof. Nagalingam stressed upon the importance of diversity and emphasized on incorporating inclusivity and equity in both India and Sri Lanka. He underlined the significance of DEI in innovation and creativity, linking it to improved organizational decision making and lower attrition rates.

The key note speaker for the valedictory ceremony was Dr. J. S. Rohan Savarimuttu, Head of Information Technology & Senior Lecturer Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. He discussed about the theme Inter-cultural Aspects of Inclusivity and highlighted the outcomes of capitalism. Mr. Srivatsa Nagarajaiah, Director of Talent Acquisition at Thryve Digital Health LLP, addressed by audience on the topic Role of AI in Revolutionizing Talent Management Strategies. He illustrated the transformation of technology in the last 30 years, highlighting the creativity of AI in various domains.

Prof. (Dr.) Nagalingam and Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Kant Swami discussed the possibilities for strengthening and expanding collaboration between the DME and SLIIT Northern Uni as part of “Collaborators’ Speak”. Prof. (Dr.) Poorva Ranjan reflected on the significance of GSMC as a landmark event for DME and introduced the convenors for the 5th GSMC. Best Paper awards were announced for outstanding research papers presented at the conference. The valedictory ceremony came to a close with a vote of thanks by the convenors.
