2024 Level 01 and Level 02 Delhi Sports University Talent Scouting Event
Delhi: The Delhi Sports University successfully conducted its annual talent scouting event on May 18th and 19th, 2024, at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex. This year’s event saw a remarkable turnout, with participants hailing from over 15 states across India, underscoring the growing popularity of Delhi Sports School within just a year of its inception.
The two-day event was structured to accommodate students from classes 6th to 9th. The first day focused on candidates from outside Delhi, while the second day catered to Delhi-based participants. Young sports enthusiasts had the opportunity to showcase their skills across a variety of sports disciplines, including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Lawn Tennis.
Participants underwent a series of comprehensive assessments, which included 11 motor quality tests using advanced devices and technologies, along with sport-specific exercises. This rigorous evaluation process aimed to identify and nurture young sporting talent, aligning with Delhi Sports University’s mission to elevate India’s sports scenario.
The event not only provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their abilities but also aimed to offer them opportunities for admission into the prestigious Delhi Sports School. The program at Delhi Sports School includes education, accommodation, and access to world-class facilities, all designed to support the development of future sports icons of India.
