DCP, Women-Safety, IPS Preeti Yadav urges women to speak up and bealert, during an awareness session on women’s safety

Noida: IPS Preeti Yadav, DCP Women Safety in her address, said, “No need to be scared of the
Police, we are here to help and be with you in your difficult times.” She addressed the students
of Delhi Metropolitan Education, Sector-62, Noida during a session conducted by Noida Police
on ‘Women’s Safety: Issues and Concerns” on August 25, 2023.

DCP apprised students about the process of filing a complaint, approaching police officials of
their respective Thana, being aware of fraud calls/messages on WhatsApp/social media etc.
She also spoke about how important it is for girls to be alert and aware of their rights, she said
“one should listen to their institution and recognise toxic relations, come out of it and don’t be
afraid of police”. She also spoke about the POSH act and its importance.

Dr Sushmita Bala, Head, of Media School, welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts
made by DCP in the direction of creating awareness about women’s safety. She said students
will benefit from such sessions. The Internal Complaints Committee organized the session,
Women Empowerment Cell and Legal Aid Cell of Delhi Metropolitan Education in
collaboration with Noida Police.

The session started with a brief talk by Fire Office Mr Ajay Kumar, who informed students
about the various safety measures one should take in case of fire incidents at home. Traffic
Inspector Mr Rakesh Kumar Yadav elaborated on traffic signals, rules and precautions one
should take on the road. He also advised students to wear helmets, not to use mobile, and to
wear seatbelts while driving.

Tracker Team representative from Thana Noida 58, Mr Krishna Kant, explained the role of the
Dog Squad to the students and how important the evidence is. He said, “Never try to sabotage
evidence because sniffer dogs catch criminals using their smell.”

The session was informative and enlightening for the students. Also present were SHO Noida
62, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Sub Inspector Jaideep Malik, Prof. Ravi Kant Swami, Director, DME,
Dr Poorva Ranjan, Head, Management School.
