The fastest mutation variant of Corona, Omicron, has reached India. On December 2, the Health Ministry confirmed the presence of two Omicron cases in Karnataka. The World Health Organization has already declared the variant of concern.

The first case was found in South Africa on 24 November. Since then, within a week, cases of Omicron have been found in 30 countries of the world including India, America, Germany, France.

BMC has said that 9 international passengers who arrived at Mumbai International Airport between November 10 and December 2 have been found to be Corona positive. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing. Among them, a passenger has also come from South Africa. The rest are from other countries.

9,216 new covid cases were reported in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 9,216 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. Talking about the recovery rate, it is 98.35 percent. In the last 24 hours, 8,612 people have been cured of corona infection. A total of 3,40,45,666 people have been cured in India so far. The weekly positivity rate is 0.84%, which is below 1 percent for the last 19 days. A total of 125.75 crore vaccinations have been done so far.

After the arrival of new variant Omicron case of Corona in the country, now strictness is being seen in the neighborhood as well. In view of the Omicron variant of Kovid, Nepal has banned movement from 9 countries including Hong Kong.
