Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME) celebrates annual media festival 'Vritika 2024'

Noida, 14 November 2024: Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME) Media School organised its 9th Annual Media Conference and Festival, ‘Vritika 2024’, in a grand manner. The two-day event aimed to discuss the changing trends of the media industry and their social impact. The event was attended by eminent personalities from the media world and enriched the students with informative and inspiring thoughts.

Inaugural Ceremony

‘Vritika 2024’ was inaugurated on 13 November at the Nelson Mandela Auditorium in Noida. The Chief Guests of the inaugural ceremony were Mr. Ashok Srivastava (Prime Time Anchor, DD News), Mr. Rahul Dabas (Special Correspondent cum Anchor, News Nation), Mr. Gagandeep Chauhan (World Punjabi TV) and Ms. Sakshi Lithoriya (CNN News).

The event began with the welcome address by Dr. Parul Mehra, Head, DME Media School, in which she highlighted the importance of ‘Vrittika’. She said that this platform provides a unique opportunity to students to learn and hone their skills. DME Director General Hon’ble Justice Bhanwar Singh emphasized on the principles of media and journalism such as truthfulness, impartiality and accuracy.

The chief guests were awarded the Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar during the event. Cultural performances like Ganesh Vandana, Rajasthani Dance and Bhangra enthralled the audience present.

Closing ceremony

The closing ceremony was held on 14th November at DME’s Amphitheatre. During this two-day festival, students participated in several competitions, including journalism, public speaking and film making. The chief guests on the closing day were Mr. Akhilesh Anand (News Anchor, ABP News) and RJ Atishya (Radio Jockey, Ishq FM 104.8). He motivated the students to take advantage of the opportunities in the media industry and fulfill their dreams.

The cultural presentations of the closing ceremony included *Mythological Dramatic Performance, **South Indian Dance, and *Rajasthani Folk Dance which added colour to the celebration. The event concluded with a wonderful performance by Singer Shri Nitin Sharma’s Band.

The winners were felicitated in various competitions held during the festival. These competitions gave the students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and talent. The zeal and enthusiasm of the students was worth seeing in the event.
