Nobel Peace Prize for 2019 goes to Ethiopian PM Abi Ahmed

New Delhi: The Nobel Peace Prize 2019 for the year 2019 went to Ethiopia PM Abi Ahmad Ali. He was given this award for peace. He will be given the award for his decisive role in resolving the border dispute with neighboring Eritrea. PM Abi Ahmed is also known as Nelson Mandela of Ethiopia.

Abi, 43, became the Prime Minister of Ethiopia in April 2018. As soon as he took over the PM’s chair, he announced that he would establish peace talks with Eritrea and restore it again.

PM Abi Ahmad Ali immediately started working in this direction with Eritrean President Isaiyas Afwerki. After which there was an atmosphere of peace between the two countries. After coming to power, Ahmed took the initiative to increase the role of women. He appointed women to about half of the 20 posts in his government.

In her government, Ethiopia’s first defense minister was also a woman. The decision of the International Border Commission in 2002 was accepted by Ethiopian PM Abi Ahmad Ali. After which the long story of border dispute and conflict ended between Ethiopia and Eritrea. After the decisive role of Abi Ahmed, the 20-year-old war ended.

Explain that every person who is awarded the Nobel Prize is given an amount of about four and a half crores. In addition to the cash prize, a 200-gram medal and citation made of 23-carat gold is also given. Abi Ahmed is the 100th recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace.
