India-China Border Issues: China rejects Trump offer to mediate

New Delhi: China rejects US President Donald Trump offers to mediate in border issues with India. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said that China did not want the mediation in current border issues with India. China and India have their own communications channel to resolve these types of India-China border disputes.

Zhao said, ‘We are capable of properly resolving the issues between us through dialogue and consultation. We do not need the intervention of the third party. In a surprise move, Mr. Trump on Wednesday offered to “mediate or arbitrate” the raging border dispute between India and China, saying he was “ready, willing and able” to ease the tensions, amid the continuing standoff between the armies of the two Asian giants.

In the matter of India-China border standoff, Zhao said that We are capable of properly resolving the issues between us through dialogue and consultation. We do not need the intervention of the third party.

Let me tell you that there has been a deadlock between India and China in Ladakh for the last few days. China is opposing the construction work happening in Indian territory. But India has made it clear that India will continue construction works in its region.

Recently, amid increasing tensions between India and China, US President Donald Trump said that the US is ready to mediate on the border dispute between India and China. However, before China, India also rejected this proposal of US President Trump.

Earlier Nepal also included parts of India as its territory. Nepal had asserted its rights over parts of India by creating a new map. However, India had made it clear that Nepal should desist from this type of action.

Considering India’s stand, Nepal has now offered to negotiate a border dispute. However, India has made it clear that Nepal will have to create an atmosphere of trust before any talks.
